Week 8 - Final presentation and submission

This week, I have submitted all the projects for this module and presented the final presentation video.

The feedback I received from the second assessor was overall okay as I have showcased well the process of the design and the self-reflection throughout the whole module. However, some suggestions were given for my future improvements, is that I should step out of my comfort zone in my design and to explore more. Nevertheless it was a great ending for this semester.

Final Outcome

Here are some final outcome for the project in this semester:

1. Everything about one thing (EAOT 2021)

The issues relevant to the topic of "Quality Time" brought out in the format of a book, looking at the impact of quality time to the context of our life.

2. 1000 words about someone

Editorial design reflecting a peer's design practice.

3. The professional - Personal Branding

To design our logo, personal mailer, a creative CV with our details, and an online portfolio to promote ourselves as a designer through this personal branding.

4. Co-exsit Project

A collaborative project between graphic design and interior design students. In this semester, we will group together to design a virtual wellbeing corner, which is the project for this semester.

Reflection

As I reflected degree year 2 has help me position myself better in this few of the design. Form the beginning of the course where I felt lost and not sure of my identity as a designer until now as since growth in myself and my practice. Other than the subject GD in Context, Translation and Transmission subject has taught me about research methodology and data analysis methods that was useful and a great help through our this year 2. As most of our projects required us to go through a great among of research in order to support what we are doing. This was a rather different experiences for me compare to when I was in diploma.

Through research I was able to articulate new ways to redefine the message of concept I would like to deliver in my project and messages was able to communicated out effectively. It also gave me confidence to present my project with solid proves. Research also serve as a good source of inspiration as the internet connect us to all over the world to understand the differences in all source of aspects. It also give me the opportunities to discover great design and partitioner out there doing great things which was also inspiring to me.

The project such as a thousand words about someone and co-exists I was able to learn about other people practice and work together with partner to develop the outcomes. Through photo-novel and everything about one thing I was able to carry out my practice as a designer which is to not only design for the sick of the design but design with a purpose in mind and to redefine the issues using creative context. Last but not least, personal branding project gave me a wake-up call and a good platform to showcase and push myself to brand myself as a designer and continue on with my passion in art.

All and all it was a headache yet and wonderful journey in this year 2 for me to look at myself and grow as a designer. I look forward to year 3 where I could further develop myself and make breakthroughs.
