Week 3(b) - Co-exist video presentation

After we received the topic assigned by lecturer, our team have discussed and brainstorm on what we think about design competition entry fees be free rather than to pay money and how does organization lowering the entry fees.

Brainstorm for ideas:

In my opinion, designer who comes up with the designs, and concepts should not be made to pay for extra to receive the promised real benefits for winning a design award. A winner should be a winner. Competition does not have any further fees, we are against the "You Win You Pay Schemas", and all the winners' services are provided free of charge to its participants. Also, free entry competition can attracted different background designer to join and build a database of talented designers and also contribute to design culture.

Once we have sorted out our opinions, one of my group member recorded and edited into a video format.

Video Presentation:

In this week (Week 3) co-exist, we all submitted our video essay presentation about the topic we were given and our videos were shown during class for a open discussion session and the feedbacks will be given by lecturer.

The feedbacks our group received from the lecturer was that we could looking the solution for lowering the fees and look at more case study and research. That can be help us a lot when we moving to do next step,

The next step for us would be to brainstorm on the proposal and come up few ideas that we want to do and what kind of method we want to present the topic in final.

Short-Reflection:

For me, this project is a good kick-start to the semester as we can communicate with each other through online methods. Unfortunately, our group do not have ID students join in because of no enough students from ID. But we still can work it together even though no ID student in our group. The open discussion session towards the end is a good way for everyone to look into the others group video. And understand how they prepared and what's the content of their video. I think it is a good project for us to explore more and do whatever we like without any judges. It also help to build designer confidence and get a lot of good experience.
