The objective of this interview is to get first hand information and perceptions from them towards Traditional Chinese Medicine in different perspectives. My target interviewees are friends who have sufficient knowledge and experience on Traditional Medicine.


Here are the questions planned:

General Questions:

1. What is your first impression on Traditional Chinese Medicine?

2. What makes you want to try in traditional medicine and take it for a long-time?

3. Why do you prefer Traditional Chinese Medicine rather than Modern Medicine? Why?

4. What do you think Traditional Chinese Medicine is not acceptable in Malaysia or other places in Malaysia?

5. What do you think Traditional Chinese Medicine can be accept in Malaysia to make it more people to try?

6. How do let more people to try the Traditional Chinese Medicine and what do you think the Traditional Chinese Medicine now lack of?

7. As yourself, would you introduce Traditional Chinese Medicine to your friends and family? Why?

8. Out of all the other views, what makes you recommended to try Traditional Chinese Medicine?

9. What are the barrier and issues face of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia?

Opinion Questions:

1. Can you tell me the difference between Chinese Medicine & Modern Medicine?

2. Does Traditional Chinese Medicine need a longer time to work?

3. What has been the reason for people more prefer Modern Medicine and what makes it difficult for people to make decision to try Traditional Chinese Medicine?

4. What kind of herbal remedies that you actually know? Can you share with me?

5. Do you think Chinese medicine always have to have a bitter taste?

6. Can you explain about the toxicity and adverse effects of Chinese medicine?

7. Chinese herbs are said to have 4 energies: cold, cool, warm, and hot. So is the food in our daily diet classified in the same way? Can you explain this?

8. It is said that Traditional Chinese Medicine have no any side effects and that using them for a long time will not harm our health. Therefore, even if the medicine doesn’t match the symptoms, they don’t do much harm. Is this true?

9. Isn’t Chinese Medicine mainly just bitter decoctions?
