Reflection
Throughout the interviews with 5 interviewees and experiences themselves, it’s proven that people more willing to believe in Modern Medicine effectivity, rather than Traditional Chinese Medicine. Even if asking them to try Traditional Chinese Medicine, but they tend to believe it what are actually recognized by culture and what the generation is believing in. The lacking of knowledge how Traditional Chinese Medicine works and how efficient of, it could be affected people reject to try. Therefore, parents or us should start educate and learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine bring to the next generation. Besides, in terms of advertisement Traditional Chinese Medicine dont have a lot. We can see that dont have any advertisements to highlight effective the important of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is one of the issues why people don't believe in Traditional Chinese Medicine and always to take Modern Medicine because they can see Western Medical advertisement everywhere also easy to get at clinics or pharmacy. But sometimes might not acceptable even with promotion because of culture things. The different is, people see differences between Modern Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to the data show that 50% of people prefer Traditional Chinese Medicine because they are natural resources compared to Modern Medicine which contains more chemicals. Some of people said Traditional Chinese Medicine mainly consist of Chinese herbal and the medicine content to visible us, unlike the Modern medicine which is somehow chemical. However, the most of people were prefer both because it is useful at a different time and based on the situation. Although Traditional Chinese Medicine is quite a slow action, the powerful of Modern Medicine is stronger with significant effects. According to the research, the reasons why Chinese Medicine was not well known around Malaysia due to lack of understanding. Other than that, people more concerned about the medicine ingredients and will be worry whether there are any side effects, and without any knowledge about Traditional Chinese Medicine. Public perceptions is very important towards how this medicine works and how efficient of and how people can accept it? Perceptions of youngsters are also a main influenced in chinese medicine because there are perception such as “first impression”, “experiences and knowledge”, “benefits” and etc. In a nutshell, this interview have strengthen my view and points on the perceptions and understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia. This data would be beneficial towards how to improve society understanding of chinese medicine.
