For this week, we all asked to watch and study the film “Design Disruptors” at our own time and write a reflection on the aspects that we found from the film. This film is one hour long plus a documentary film about revealing of every designer’s perspective approaches towards their company and how design is overtaking the industries. Each of the individual’s designers with different job scopes to explain how the design can be a massive transformation to evolving into the future industries.
I really like how each of these designers that were interviewed for this film has their experiences and thoughts about how they as a designer approaches into a decision to make something new. All these designers they’re working under the multi-billion company. It’s more towards their way of thinking and their mindset, they have to know what they need to do, how the thing is solving it, how can it be done from start till the end. In my opinion, we can’t know how's the product outcome, in the end, looks like, what’s right and wrong. It’s a process itself and how the people are working within determined is how the final outcome will turn out. In this film, I get to know about how design has risen to become an important role in this modern business now. The major companies like Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Airbnb, etc. were all mention in this film that have prevailed in a world full of pop-up competitors. It’s really amazing how they have placed an emphasis on their experience in their life and great aesthetic from the beginning and became who they are today. This documentary film able to help the community by providing the opportunity to educate themselves about the showcasing of the industry’s most talented minds. After watching this film, I remember where one of the designers mentioned that if you designed something that you love and like, the design isn’t finished until someone using it. Actually, it is more about designing for the consumer or user. It’s about the connection. It creates between the product and our lives. To sum up, I think we have to understand the meaning of being a good designer, and not just say that I’m a designer but without understanding the meaning of it.
Thanks for the reading.
