22 Project List And GD Map Draft

For this project, we have to choose 22 projects for our GD Map project and come up with a GD Map that reflects our own GD practice. So, we are required to choose 10 design was provided by the GD Map handout given, another 10 projects of other designer and 2 projects was my personal design.

Here are the projects choices provided in the GD Map handout:

The below list shows that I sorted out the 10 designs given by the GD Map handout and 12 designs from my own projects or the projects of other designer of my own search.

Every each projects were sorted out into 4 fields of design which is commercial, responsible, experimental and discursive designs. Some of the projects might have more than one fields in one design.

All of these 22 designs will be categorised and sorted into the 4 fields of design in this blog post which I also show my sketches in how I plan to make my GD Map.

Furthermore, I also did 2 sketches to best illustrate my understanding and showcase the 22 projects with the 4 fields of designs. The first designs was

1. Galaxy Map

The first idea on top is a galaxy themes inspired by the Nasa: The space exploration. The space exploration is an Earth Science where astronauts have traveled to the moon, probes have explored the solar system, and instruments in space have discovered thousands of planets around other stars. It reflects how I explore my way in the design space and many of design have to understand and differentiate the design in 4 field of design.

However, in here me as the explorer to explore freely and research different spaces (4 fields of design) and conquer the 22 design "Space Exploration" instead to reach my understanding.

2. The Brain Map

The second idea on top is an isometric brain map look like. This design carries the meaning of how a designer "think" for a design (4 fields of design) as it represent some of the projects sometimes may have one or two fields as many project nowadays have to be multipurpose as well.

Notice the flash light sketch in different corner. That's the part where I trying to design how 22 projects going to appear in a map as there are more than few projects have more than one fields of designs.

Therefore, my final decision of the sketch design was Galaxy Map.
